Glasshouses A number of greenhouse and garden experts were on hand today (June 16th) at the most recent of the Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) shows.

With the Chelsea Flower Show finished for another year, growers headed to Garden Wisleys Pinks and Carnations Open Day, where they were able to pick up tips on flower cultivation.

The cool conditions would have made it an enjoyable day, according to editor-in-chief of the RHS Encyclopaedia of Perennials Graham Rice, who said it is often too warm at the event.

He added attendees would be able to pick up information from the Border Carnations and Pinks Trials Assessment Panel, as well as attending a number of workshops.

Mark Trenear was booked to discuss the history of the flowers on show, while Sue Hoy gave a cutting class for Perfect Pinks.

"Not only that, but the British National Carnation Society show will be taking place so youll be able to see a wide range of perfect blooms - always inspiring," Mr Rice explained.

The RHS has a string of other events coming up, including the Bonsai Display, which is due to take place on Sunday (June 21st) at Harlow Carr.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19224001-ADNFCR
