Classic Greenhouses Britney spears, whose hits include Toxic, Womaniser and Oops I Did It Again, has reportedly taken up gardening.

The troubled star has fought to revitalise her career and life after breaking up with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

However, the 27-year-old has now turned to horticulture as a therapy and is taking a lot of solace from books such as Chicken Soup for the Gardeners Soul, a source told the Sun newspaper.

"Shes very proud and knowledgeable about what shes planted and what is growing around her home," the source explained, adding that Spears often gets straight back to work in the garden when she is back in California.

The songstress is currently touring North America with the Pussycat Dolls in support.

Lead singer for the band Nicole Scherzinger is currently dating British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, although it is unclear whether the stars swap greenhouse tips while on the road.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19140437-ADNFCR
