Bespoke Greenhouses TV presenter James May might be used to distributing car advice through his job as a Top Gear presenter, but he is set to give guidance of a different kind after agreeing to create a display for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

May will take a break from his full-throttle exploits with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond to build a small urban garden out of plasticine and plants at this years RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The garden will feature on the BBC show James Mays Toy Stories and is aimed at exploring the garden as a form of art.

Garden enthusiasts heading to the show in May will also be able to see 39 other gardens.

Show manager Alex Baulkwill explained he is looking forward to seeing the TV presenters creation.

"Were open to new ideas and concepts at Chelsea and always looking at ways to give visitors new experiences and push boundaries, as well as including more traditional designs," he said.

The RHS aims to allow people to enjoy horticultural experiences and supports gardeners of all levels.

It recently teamed up with Waitrose to continue its plan to promote gardening in primary schools.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19080279-ADNFCR
