From starting out to pushing up the daisies at RHS Chelsea
This years Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show will see Hillier Nurseries present a series of garden displays based around the concept of tracking the changes in a persons garden as they enter different stages of life.
Managing director Andy McIndoes tongue-in-cheek displays will cover everything from the first garden of a homeowner, which will look at following modern trends, to the "Pushing up the Daisies" display, which will reflect a funeral garden.
Squeezed in between these two extremes will be the "Swinging Suburbia", "Child-Friendly" and "Losing the Plot" (retirement) stages.
"This type of garden - for people downsizing after retirement - is the kind I get asked about most by customers," Mr McIndoe explained to Horticulture Week.
"Sometimes easy maintenance plants are seen as negative but you can do great things with them."
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show will take place between May 19th and May 23rd and ticket information can be obtained from the RHS website.
