Bespoke Greenhouses Kind-hearted pupils at a Wrexham school are taking part in a horticultural project to help Marie Curie Cancer Care, according to a report in the Chester Evening Leader.

Ysgol Hafod y Wern has joined an initiative that sees any flowers grown sponsored in aid of the charity.

The initiative has been running for four years and gives children a chance to earn sponsorship money for the flowers they grow.

Known as the Mini Pots of Care Scheme, kids have fun decorating pots and are encouraged to plant daffodil seeds in them to help them earn money for the charity.

The project also serves to educate the pupils about science and nature and will no-doubt encourage some to take the skills they have learned home to show their families in the greenhouse.

The money raised will help Marie Curie nurses, who provide care to terminally ill patients, without charge.

Marie Curie was a physicist and chemist born in Warsaw in 1867. She oversaw the first ever studies into the treatment of cancer using radioactive isotopes.ADNFCR-1495-ID-18851044-ADNFCR
