Leeds school scoops best garden award
Pupils from a Leeds school have been working so hard in their garden that they have won top prize in a regional competition, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Moor Allerton Hall Primary pupils beat off a host of competitors in the competition organised by East North East Homes and Leeds in Bloom.
The school took the Best School Garden award in a competition in which more than 80 participants took part.
Leeds in Bloom is one of 18 regional competitions that comprise the nationwide Britain in Bloom, which is one of Europes premier competitions.
This years theme is Local Roots, which celebrates the history of each locality.
The idea is "to celebrate the local community by both remembering the past and embracing the future".
Gardening can be a great way of spending time with family, friends and the community and when the work is done, a pleasant area is left for all to enjoy.
