Calke Abbey to showcase its gardens
Calke Abbey in Derbyshire, which boasts an impressive array of greenhouses, as well as walled gardens and buildings, is set to open its gates to the public for special viewings.
Visitors will be able to see the historic country house as part of a new initiative from the National Gardens Scheme (NGS).
According to reports from the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph, the vegetable garden also boasts a variety of fruits and vegetables that can be bought by visitors.
Those taking time to visit the gardens will also be able to meet the head gardener who will take visitors on a tour to explain the history of the gardens.
Money raised from the event is set to be donated to charity.
The National Trust describe Calke Abbey as a "country house, park and garden where time has stood still" with a number of invisible corridors, underground tunnels and a secret garden.
