Gardeners World new presenter set to debut

Popular BBC2 show Gardeners World is set to screen its first episode with new presenter Toby Buckland on September 12th.

Mr Buckland stepped into the role following the resignation of former host Monty Don due to health reasons.

BBC Knowledge commissioning editor Nick Shearman is delighted with the appointment.

"Its brilliant news that Toby is joining the Gardeners World team," he said.

"He is hugely likeable and enthusiastic and brings to the team his love of recycling and ethical gardening.

"He is an excellent horticulturalist who will bring fresh energy to Gardeners World, and with the rest of the team will potentially bring new viewers to what is already a fantastic BBC show."

The new presenter began his gardening career as a rose and pinks nurseryman before attaining a landscape management degree from Greenwich University.
