Glasshouses June has been identified as a "great" time to sow seeds in the garden.

Online resource PinkNews.co.uk explains that a wide range of foliage can be planted over the course of the month.

This includes annuals, such as geraniums, marigolds, salvia and vinca as well as perennials like yarrow, foxgloves, rudbeckia and daylilies.

Furthermore, June provides an opportune period to introduce pear, peach, apple and other fruit trees into a green space.

"Its a great time to plant strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Fertilise fruits and vegetables with a good quality, slow-release vegetable food. Time to stake tomatoes and spray them if necessary to prevent disease problems," the piece suggests.

Gardening enthusiasts who have carried out enough planning will be able to harvest edible produce such as spinach, peas, strawberries and salad greens, the article concludes.

Meanwhile, sector commentator Carolyn Spray recently wrote in the Sunday Mail that carrots can safely be sown until the end of June.ADNFCR-1495-ID-18636853-ADNFCR
