Planthouses Some horticultural fans may not think of the internet as the first place to go for a chat about their green-fingered hobby or as somewhere to ask advice about their gardening queries.

However, there is a wealth of knowledge available on the web, sector commentator Robin Wedewer notes.

Writing on online resource Examiner.com, she suggests that while horticultural enthusiasts may be more familiar with vegetable plots than gardening blogs, they could also use the internet to make new friends.

Ms Wedewer states that she has learned a great deal by logging onto gardening blogs and meeting new people.

"I have learned a tremendous amount of gardening knowledge from my new friends and hope I have shared some in return. The enthusiasm and encouragement they provide is priceless," she concludes.

As such, she encourages people who are a bit lonely, or who are keen to meet new people, to find some gardening friends online.

Meanwhile, sector commentator Mary Clarke writes in online web resource GleeWire that an increasing number of gardening retailers are using the internet as a way to open new channels of communication with green-fingered people.ADNFCR-1495-ID-18634778-ADNFCR
