Top new garden designers identified
As the gardening show season gets underway, a number of horticultural designers have been identified by industry commentator Rae Spencer-Jones in the Daily Telegraph.
Fernando Gonzalez is influenced by maths, chemistry, science fiction and the forces of nature in his designs, leading to the creation of 21st-century spaces that bear no relation to their surroundings.
"I want to get away from routine and through my gardens I aim to visit another dimension," he tells the publication.
Meanwhile, Kate Gould - who won gold at Chelseas Chic Gardens category last year - often incorporates innovative modernist touches in her green spaces, which also frequently include integrated lighting.
Finally, Lincolnshire-based Adam Frost believes that gardens should be treated as a practical space and that hard landscaping should reflect and work with the associated buildings and environment.
Upcoming garden shows this summer include the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show and the Three Counties Show.
