Follow directions when using pesticides
Gardeners should pay close attention to all label directions on pesticides, it has been asserted.
Online resource the Houston Peach explains that the labels give instructions on when to begin to spraying the chemicals on crops, how often to spray them and how long to leave between the last spray and harvesting.
It notes that plums and apples are among the plants that require regular sprays to ensure they produce a good crop.
As such, the publication recommends that gardening enthusiasts should plan ahead to make sure that there is enough time between the final spray and harvesting to make sure that the pesticides have broken down so that the produce can be eaten safely.
Meanwhile, online resource Huntingdon Town Crier explains that gardeners should not confuse weedkiller with lawn weedkiller as they could accidentally wipe out their entire lawn if they make a mistake with the chemicals.
