Bespoke Greenhouses Alan Titchmarsh has said that gardening is "much more important" than politics. In an interview with Radio Times, the expert gardener said that gardening was more important because it has a "consistent point of view". Titchmarsh was asked if he thought gardening was more important than BBC's Newsnight. "Much more important," he responded. "Tomorrow, Newsnight will have different stories and priorities." He added: "Gardening is more important than politics. It has a consistent point of view. And that is: that a piece of ground should be cherished. "If you live in the countryside and look out of the window, you will see there is no ostensible difference between this year and 200 years ago. Titchmarsh also said that he believed people spent too much time watching television, stating that people cannot "see the greater world" because they are "glued to the screen". "Gardening is the stuff of life. It's about putting a seed in the ground and making it grow," he said.
